I'm Tired

Brandon's Journal [Unofficial] March 22, 2026

A few days ago, Jon wrote about a video that appealed to him. The video explored the idea that so many of us are losing interests in things (holidays, pop-culture) in part because of we are always connected and in part because we have finally started to see the bullshit that goes on behind the scenes. https://youtu.be/YmQZGH17anA I'm not a fan of talking head videos, but the creator made some good points, and I think more importantly he touched on something that I've felt a lot this week. I'm tired. I'm just worn out. Not physically, but emotionally and mentally. The internet has fried my nerves by serving up a smorgasbord of negativity. For every one good thing I see online, I see at least fifty bad things. Places that weren't so bad (like my YouTube algorithm) has now been infiltrated by news. My pop-culture news sites spend time discussing who is buying what company and who they are politically aligned with. The same goes for video games, tech companies, and what not. Everyone is out to find the worst in someone and instead of celebrating our arts, we are have politicized them. And then there is always that asshole that feels the new to chime in that "Art is already political." Ugh... this is what I'm talking about. What started off as a little joke .gif turned into something else for this post. The second gif, really hits at the heart of what I'm feeling. > Mostly, I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world. We were never made to take on all of the worlds problems. We were never supposed to see all that we do. It's ruining folks, including myself. I just hope I can find a better way to disconnect and filter some of this nastiness.
