Disney Kids & Family Unwraps “Mickey’s Home Alone” Special Slate For This December.
Disney Kids & Family announced “Mickey’s Home Alone” a brand new holiday special from Disney Television Animation set to debut in the 2026 holiday season on Disney Jr., Disney Channel and Disney+.
The special is directed by Shane Prigmore (“Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure”) marking his return to Disney Television Animation as he left in 2020 to work at Skydance Animation and Warner Bros Pictures. Animation from 2020 to 2024. Tom Rogers (“Mickey And The Very Many Christmases”) and Rachel Ruderman (“Elena Of Avalor”) serve as executive producers.
In “Mickey’s Home Alone,” Mickey can’t wait to spend Christmas at home. His plans take a turn when Minnie surprises him and the gang with tickets to spend Christmas at a world-famous Ice Palace. In the morning rush to make it out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind and home alone. While Mickey and Pluto must protect their home from two feisty villains, a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner, Minnie and the gang desperately try to make their way back home to Mickey.
The special features original songs “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling” by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin, and a new arrangement of the holiday classic “Jingle Bells,” with a score by Tony Morales. Disney Television Animation and Wild Canary Animation serve as production units for the special.
