Filming for the “Inspector Gadget ” live-action reboot film by Walt Disney Studios is slated to start in August/September 2026 via Production Weekly.
The film will have Sean Anders _(Apple TV “Spirited”, Paramount “Daddy’s Home”) _as director. Will Ferrell (“Elf”, “Barbie”) is in talks to star as the titular character.
Reminder Disney only owns the film rights for the franchise while Wildbrain Studios owns the “Inspector Gadget ” IP since 2015.
