"textContent": "# **“Figment” Live-Action/Animation Movie Likely Starting Production As The California Film Commission Gives California Tax Credit To Unannounced Walt Disney Studios Film As Part Of** **The Program Expanding To Animation Projects.**\n\nThis morning it was announced that California is pushing to bring animation production back to the state, with a new round of tax credits that now includes animated features alongside live-action projects. **California has awarded tax credits** to 38 film projects through its expanded Film & Television Tax Credit Program. **(Starting with “The Simpsons Movie 2” and the third “Phineas And Ferb” movie)**\n\nOne of this projects selected is an unannounced Walt Disney Studios film as $18.2 millon as part of the program. Likely is going to be the **“Figment** ” film at **Point Grey Pictures** which was reported to be a live-action/animation hybrid** _(“Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, “Space Jam, \"Looney Tunes: Back In Action”, “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers\", “Coyote Vs. ACME”, “Oswald The Lucky Rabbit”)_** back in September 2025 according to insider **Daniel RPK**.\n\n> Other projects that will get subsidies include untitled films from Paramount ($25.9 million) and DreamWorks Animation ($24.7 million), **plus a Disney live-action title ($18.2 million)**. These productions are expected to employ 484 cast and crew members and generate $144 million in qualified expenditures.
