"textContent": "IBM is refreshing its FlashSystem lineup, expanding capacity in the all-flash storage portfolio and adding AI agent-powered data services that promise to automate manual and error-prone tasks.\n\nBig Blue rolled out three new FlashSystem boxes: the entry/edge level, 1U, 2.5 petabytes 5600; the 2U, 7.2 petabyte 7600 aimed at large, virtualized environments and analytics platforms; and the high-end, 11.8 petabyte 9600 for enterprises that need extreme performance and massive scalability. IBM says the boxes deliver up to 40% greater data efficiency for improved capacity and can reduce the required storage footprint by 30% to 75%, compared to the previous generation of FlashSystems.\n\nThe new FlashSystems employ AI-assisted telemetry and analytics features via a new data services layer called FlashSystem.ai that’s embedded in the systems. FlashSystem.ai can analyze telemetry, optimize performance, and detect threats to help administrators manage, monitor, diagnose, and remediate issues across the enterprise, IBM says. It uses agent**i** c AI models that are trained on tens of billions**** of telemetry data points to look for operational patterns, automatically tune performance, and suggest automated corrective actions. The idea is to reduce manual storage operations.\n\nFor security, the systems include a new FlashCore Module all-flash drive, which brings hardware-accelerated, real-time ransomware detection, data reduction, analytics and operations. The devices can spot anomalies and patterns in data that need to be remediated, IBM noted.\n\n“The next-generation IBM FlashSystem elevates storage to an intelligent, always-available layer, where autonomous AI agents continuously optimize performance, security, and cost without human intervention,” said Sam Werner, general manager of IBM Storage, in a statement.\n\n“Automation in deploying, provisioning, optimizing, and managing enterprise storage is no longer a luxury. The complexities introduced by hybrid cloud and AI are compounded as IT organizations face increased responsibility with a workforce that is more generalist and less specialized in terms of roles,” wrote Matt Kimball, principal analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy. “IBM’s integration of AI into FlashSystem addresses these challenges directly by automating time-consuming tasks that consume precious IT resources. The ability to automatically align workload placement with performance and security policies gives IT teams leverage they desperately need as infrastructure complexity outpaces headcount growth.”\n\nIBM FlashSystem competes with similar flash arrays from competitors such as Pure Storage, Dell, and NetApp. The new systems will be available March 6.\n\nsrcset=\"https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?quality=50&strip=all 1920w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=300%2C168&quality=50&strip=all 300w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=768%2C432&quality=50&strip=all 768w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=1024%2C576&quality=50&strip=all 1024w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=1536%2C864&quality=50&strip=all 1536w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=1240%2C697&quality=50&strip=all 1240w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=150%2C84&quality=50&strip=all 150w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=854%2C480&quality=50&strip=all 854w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=640%2C360&quality=50&strip=all 640w, https://b2b-contenthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IBM-FlashSystem.jpg?resize=444%2C250&quality=50&strip=all 444w\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\">\n\nIBM",
