429 Too Many Requests - Scanner activity detected

Yes it seems to be working now. I don’t think it was anything on my computer or network, as the error was showing on multiple completely different devices and connections. So I don’t think it was a local scanner or anything like that. I’m just worried it might happen again. Do you know if WordPress itself could cause this, for example with its automatic background requests? Or could it simply be caused by too many visits to the site in a short period of time?
