"textContent": "Somehow I missed the WordPress 7.0 update cycle entirely\n\nUnlike Ubuntu, WordPress failed its promise of releasing 7.0 on Apr 9th… (It’s still RC2 as of now) But here are the main catches:\n\n 1. The default color scheme is finally changed. WordPress now uses colors that looks like Gutenberg so the UI is more consistent. The visual elements are also changed to resemble Gutenberg better.\n 2. Native AI connector API / AI client that allows you to plug your site into major AI providers. The official plugin currently provides support for Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI.\n 3. New blocks, most notably Accordions, Breadcumbs, Icon, Math, and Time to Read.\n 4. Better live collaboration on the editor.\n 5. CSS customizations on individual blocks instead of on a whole set of blocks across the entire site.\n 6. I’m not sure if it’s just a playground thing (I’m testing all of these inside WordPress playgroud) but it seems that WordPress 7.0 Admin area behaves like an SPA instead of multiple pages.\n\n\n\nSo yep WordPress is still working towards the goal of becoming a full blown website builder and is now adding AI into it.\n\n* * *\n\nI still have Classic Editor & Classic Widgets on my website… These are out of support for a long time already and I’m very hesitant on whether or not to make the switch…",
