FTP connection error

it was the DNS server. the one provided by my ISP was apparently insufficient to resolve an FTP server. rather than sending DNS information to the all-seeing eye of google, you can use a custom DNS IP in the TCP/IPv4 properties of your network connection, or don’t send any DNS information anywhere by simply putting these in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file 185.27.134.11 ftpupload.net 185.27.134.11 ftp.infinityfree.com 185.27.134.11 ftp.epizy.com
