"textContent": "The “Trump-Kennedy Center” appears to be no more.\n\nScaffolding has gone up around the storied performance venue to remove the “Trump-Kennedy Center” name, which President Trump changed without congressional approval late last year. A judge ruled the decision illegal last month, with and rejected the administration’s bid to reverse the division on Friday.\n\n“The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so. Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper wrote.\n\nTrump has been particularly hostile towards the lauded cultural center, from firing all of its board members to replace them with sycophants, to slapping his own name on the building. His takeover led to dozens of artists dropping out of planned performances, which in turn led ticket sales to plummet.\n\n> Donald Trump’s name is being removed from the Kennedy Center right now\n>\n> Via @DCNewsNow pic.twitter.com/2gjJnoj5zW\n>\n> — WABJ - Washington Association of Black Journalists (@WABJDC) June 12, 2026",
