  "textContent": "RAWALPINDI: Several people died on Wednesday after a fire erupted in a vehicle on the Islamabad-Murree Expressway near Khajut, the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) said.\n\nIn a statement, the NHMP spokesperson said that the fire “erupted suddenly in a Hiace van”, as a result of which “several people” died.\n\nRelief and rescue efforts were underway after contingents of the motorway police and the district administration reached the site, the spokesperson added.\n\nAn investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire, the statement said, adding that further details would be shared later.\n\nLast month, a heavy rush was reported on the Murree Expressway as traffic from the Murree Road was diverted there due to reconstruction work.\n\n* * *\n\n_This is a developing story that is being updated as the situation evolves.
