  "textContent": "LAHORE: A Karachi-bound train derailed near Punjab’s Bahawalpur on Tuesday night, following which a probe was ordered into the incident, official sources _Dawn_.\n\nFurther details about the incident involving Tezgam Express are not yet clear, and several casualties are feared.\n\nThe train’s driver, Tariq Khan, told _Dawn_ he could not explain how the train was derailed. “I don’t know how it happened.” He added, “I don’t know how many passengers have died or have been injured.”\n\nAccording official sources, the Federal Government Inspector of Railways (FGIR) has been appointed as the inquiry officer to investigate the matter.\n\n“The FGIR will conduct an inquiry and report to the [railways] ministry within three days,” an official told _Dawn_.\n\nThere are reports that a relief train has reached the site of the incident and rescue and relief operations are being carried out by Rescue 1122 and other departments.\n\n* * *\n\n_This is a developing story that is being updated as the situation evolves.
