  "textContent": "Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday paid a visit to Quetta, where she met with her Balochistan counterpart CM Sarfraz Bugti and assured him of her full support.\n\nCM Maryam’s visit comes in the wake of a _spate of attacks_ across Balochistan on January 31, which brought parts of the restive province to a standstill for _several days_. Security forces had responded by killing a total of 216 terrorists during “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1” in the province.\n\n“As the chief minister of Punjab, as a Pakistani and as your sister, all services and resources of Punjab, whatever cooperation or support you need — whether in operations against _khawarij_ here or any kind of challenges in the government — we are with you,” Maryam said.\n\nShe further assured Bugti, “Whatever kind of support you need, I am just a call away. I will be very glad if I can assist you or do something for the people of Balochistan.”\n\n> \n\nNoting that this was her first visit to another province after assuming the office of Punjab CM in February 2024, Maryam said she was glad it was to Quetta.\n\n“You have rightly said that you do not have _fitna_ , but you have _Fitna al Khawarij_ , which is your own unique set of challenges that Balochistan is facing,” she further remarked, referring to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).\n\n“A lot of courage and firmness is needed for it, which you are demonstrating by governing Balochistan in such situations, so hats off to you, CM _sahib_ ,” Maryam said.\n\nThe Punjab chief minister said she visited the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in the morning, where the “commitment” she saw was very “promising and encouraged” her.\n\nShe prayed that may God help “Balochistan move forward and very soon eradicate the menace of terrorism” from the province.\n\n“May Balochistan be a cradle of peace, safety and happiness,” she added.\n\nAccording to her PML-N, CM Maryam held a meeting with Bugti and Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail.
