"textContent": "February was a fever dream. It began with a freelance story written for _Rolling Stone_ about the Minneapolis DIY/punk community’s response to the ICE occupation. Mid-month, there was the multi-label punk records raffle that ultimately raised $4,000 for Minneapolis mutual aid. It ended with my 3-year-old child throwing up for 24 hours. I did a ton of laundry while wondering if I’ve caught his bug or if my gut is in a knot because our government has launched another violent and horrific international conflict.\n\nSomewhere between all that, I organized some upcoming punk shows, co-hosted and edited podcasts, put together radio shows, and published features about Mod Lang, Big Clown, and Itchy & the Nits. There’s been some stressful personal life bullshit, but honestly there’s only one new development from the past month that matters: Every night, my kid tells me to pick up my guitar, sits next to me, and says “let’s sing ‘Yellow Submarine.’” We put away our phones and sing his favorite songs every night.\n\nHere are the best punk songs from February.
