"textContent": "\n\n\n\nAm I the only one that doesn’t get the need for K-Pop idols to be compared to and be more like western artists, required to sing 100% in concerts and festivals? Because first of all, they function differently on stage and that’s simply the way it is. And one of the main reason for that is the choreography which takes up a lot of energy even if you were completely healthy (which most idols aren’t because of the beauty standards that are set). Most western artists walk and occasionally jump around the stage allowing them the chance to focus on their singing and casually hype the crowd.\n\n\n\n\nI’m not saying this is an easy thing but I imagine it’s harder to balance two things at once constantly throughout. You could argue that each member doesn’t have to sing the whole song but even then, their dancing is constantly taking up their energy. Especially for back to back concerts, I don’t even think it’s healthy to sing and dance for 2 hours straight either. I’m also not saying that they should lip sync the whole time but I personally have no problem hearing them sing here and there (around 50% maybe). However, it would be great to hear more live during one-off performances with 1-3 songs because I don’t think that happens often enough especially during award shows which is why idols don’t have a good reputation in general.\n\n\n\n\nAs I mentioned, both industries run differently and prioritise certain things over the other and some may be capable of both but I still find it weird because you’d never hear people saying western artists to dance more. And when they do, it’s praised so much despite how awkward it actually looks because they barely have training for it. I guess people should already know what to expect when it comes to an industry they’re into. They are the way they are when certain factors are considered.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNew post\n\nNext Post\n\n\n\n\n✉ PC Stories",
