What’s Playing in the Studio (This Week’s Loop)
Atila, Mrs. Wigger Travolta
April 9, 2026
Step into What’s Playing in the Studio, my playful music check-in—part experiment, part time capsule, and all about the joy of sharing what’s on repeat.
Think of this as the “soundtrack to me being a functional human” report: the tracks I can’t quit, the albums I spin start to finish, and the music that keeps my feet moving and my mood up.
Consider this first post the pilot episode: a full dump so I can set the palette, several mini lists to start, what’s hype, what’s tender, what’s helping me lock in, and what I keep returning to when I need a familiar emotional temperature. Down the line, expect posts diving into artist spotlights, themed playlists, and deep dives on specific albums or moods—so if there’s a format you’re curious about, keep an eye out.
After this, future posts will be smaller + more focused (one loop, an artist spotlight, an album wrap). But for now: here’s the current soundtrack.
Sugar Rush
Glitchy, bratty, overcaffeinated bangers only. the kind of music that turns “standing in my kitchen” into “performing in my kitchen.”
Yummy (Righteous Remix) - Ayesha Erotica
Jersey - Baby Tate
MPH - Doechii
Gorgeous - Doja Cat
OKLOSER - Doja Cat
Wash & Set - Leikali47
Sugar Water Cyanide - Rebecca Black
Crank - Slayyyter
Yearn (dot) com
Bright-yearn, not devastation-yearn: glossy, melodic, tender, a little cinematic — tender without going full devastation. (I’m fine. I swear.)
The Hand - Annabella Dinda
Dandelion - Ariana Grande
Birds of a Feather - Billie Eilish
White Mercedes - Charli xcx
Side Quest Son - Elio Mei
Parachute - Hayley Williams
Someone to Call My Lover - Janet Jackson

Lock in
The “okay, stand up, open the doc, do the thing” category.
Runway-to-the-desk energy: competence fantasy — I’m locked in I’m manifesting.

Life Boat - RAYE
All I wanna do - INJI
London Drill - London Hill
Blessings on Blessings - OSHUN

Focus music (chill zone-out)
Not hype — just smooth, steady “turn my thoughts down” music. The comedown pile.
Special mention: the score from Interstellar is elite if you want a lo-fi hip-hop girl moment, but make it cosmic.
Borderline - Tame Impala
Dracula - Tame Impala
Eventually - Tame Impala
Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - Tame Impala
Is it True - Tame Impala
Let It Happen - Tame Impala
New Person, Same Old Mistakes - Tame Impala
The Less I know, the better - Tame Impala
What’s that, you weren’t expecting 8 Tame Impala tracks in a row? I’ll have you know I voted for her.
Songs I’ve come back to
Stuff I circled back to after a long gap. Comfort classics + “still hits” heartbreak. Body-memory songs, like flipping the lights back on or opening a music box.

Number One Fan - MUNA
All I Wanted - Paramore
Hard Times - Paramore
15 Step - Radiohead
Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers
