WIP Mods • (Mod) Land of ducks
Good day everyone.
I'm creating a duck mod for my 6-year-old nephew. He asked me for villagers like the ones in Minecraft to put in his Minetest game, but I couldn't find them.
Code:
_ _ __ ____ _ | | __ _ _ __ __| | ___ / _| | _ \ _ _ ___| | _____ | | / _` | '_ \ / _` | / _ \| |_ | | | | | | |/ __| |/ / __|| |__| (_| | | | | (_| | | (_) | _| | |_| | |_| | (__| <\__ \|_____\__,_|_| |_|\__,_| \___/|_| |____/ \__,_|\___|_|\_\___/
So I decided to make my own villager mod, but with ducks. I've been working on it for a few afternoons. I've learned Lua, the Luanti APIs, and mobs redo and Blockblench. I added the mobs as my nephew requested features in the game.
I've tested the game on a local network, and it works well.
Gameplay
Regular ducks (Duckmen) appear in the world.
You have to give the regular ducks a job by providing them with tools and clothing to work with. The ducks transform and are ready to work. The ducks interact with chests.
I already have the main Duckman mod up and running, and I have the following professions working:
Farmer Trader Guard Builder
Here's the result:

TODO
Giving the ducks backstory. Adding a system for talking to the ducks. Creating a helper that follows me and helps me place torches, assists me in fights, and helps me with work.
Note: The reason for working with chests and not creating any other special items is that it allows adapting everything to other mobs like Pipeworks or Hopper.
What do you think?
