I am guessing that the writers are not native English speakers, which is fine obviously, but some of the dialogue could use a bit of proof-reading as parts of it don't sound very natural.

In a project involving kids or inexperienced writers, I would say even English natives can write stilted dialogue. Sometimes even millenials with big-time jobs..
