"textContent": "France is more-or-less on the same trajectory. They intend to limit \"screen\" use at school to the minimum needed ('justified use\"), perhaps a nation-wide ban on mobiles on school grounds students, and restrictions on social media for children younger than 15 (like Australia did). Polls show that public opinion largely is favorable to the latter, and probably also to the rest too, I think.\n\nThere's also some talks about writing in a law the principle of favoring IRL experience in school activities; e.g. trip to a farm or to a forest. During my school days (late 20th century), my schools did that a few times and I have good memories of it. I used to live in rural areas so it was easy to organize things like that. But apparently this has become far less common probably because of paperwork and legal responsibility coupled with more troublesome children maybe.\n\nNow, Luanti and other software are just tools and if one \"advertises\" anything, it is that Luanti is available and may be useful for some educational goals. It's up to the teacher/school to decide if they prefer a field trip for e.g. a geology lesson, or if they can't and would use Luanti-based simulation as a good enough _ersatz_.\n\nStatistics: Posted by Astrobe — Fri Feb 13, 2026 13:47\n\n* * *",
