Maryland Democrats hope brand-new state Voting Rights Act holds in face of Supreme Court ruling

Maryland Democrats were relieved that they were able to maneuver the Maryland Voting Rights Act into taking effect Tuesday, but worried how it would fare under Wednesday's Supreme Court ruling gutting racial redistricting aspects of the federal Voting Rights Act .
