  "textContent": "Prince George’s County police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened late Thursday night near MGM National Harbor.\n\nFOX 5's Melanie Alnwick says the incident occurred in the area of MGM National Avenue and Monument Avenue. The first call came in around 11:15 p.m. as a report of a personal‑injury accident. When fire and EMS crews arrived, they discovered the victim had been shot.\n\nPolice say an adult male was found inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.\n\nDetectives are working to identify a suspect and determine a motive. Police have not said whether anyone is at large.\n\nRoads in the area were shut down for several hours overnight and video from the scene showed water on the roadway where fire crews washed down the area.\n\nLanes reopened around 4:15 a.m. as the investigation continued.\n\nTwo years ago, a man was shot and killed in a parking garage at MGM National Harbor. This week, Prince George’s County police announced the arrest of Dayon Neal, who is charged with the murder of Daniel Thomas.\n\nRELATED: Arrest made in 2024 murder at MGM National Harbor parking garage\n\nThe shooting happened on May 11, 2024, at 4:50 a.m. Investigators say the two men did not know each other, and the motive remains undetermined.\n\nNeal is being held without bond.",
