"textContent": "Two Maryland firefighters jumped into action this week to save a driver after a fiery wreck in St. Mary's County this week.\n\nThe crash happened around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. That's when Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Chief Turner saw the crash near Three Notch Road and Miramar Road in California, Maryland.\n\nOne car had driven off the road and burst into flames. The driver was still inside. Turner called for help, and started battling the flames with a fire extinguisher while a safety officer from the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department pulled the driver out to safety.\n\n**SUGGESTED:** New DC bill would allow cannabis-infused drinks through brewery partnerships\n\nOther fire crews responded to the crash, and were able to put out the flames. Video from officers responding to the scene showed at least one first responder climbing on top of the flaming vehicle.\n\nParamedics took the driver from the flaming car to a trauma center.\n\nCrews found a second car involved in the crash shortly down the road. Paramedics treated one person from that car at the crash scene.\n\nInvestigators later said that they believe the car that caught fire was the one that caused the crash after driving north in the southbound lanes.\n\nThe driver of the flaming car was not identified.",
