  "textContent": "The National Weather Service in Sterling, Va., issued Tornado Warnings late Monday morning as a fast‑moving storm system pushed across parts of northern and northwestern Virginia and toward the Washington metro area.\n\n## **LIVE STORM UPDATES**\n\n### **10:57 a.m. — Loudoun County Tornado Warning issued**\n\nThe National Weather Service in Sterling, Virginia has issued a Tornado Warning for Southeastern Loudoun County in northern Virginia.\n\n### **10:33 a.m. — Tornado Warnings for parts of Virginia**\n\n## Areas under Tornado Warning\n\nThe warnings were issued for:\n\n  * Eastern Rappahannock County\n  * Northwestern Fauquier County\n  * Northwestern Culpeper County\n\n\n\nThe alert is in effect until 11 a.m. EDT.\n\nThe National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located about seven miles east of Sperryville, 12 miles northwest of Culpeper, moving northeast at 55 mph.\n\n## The National Weather Service warned that anyone in the storm’s path could face:\n\n  * Dangerous flying debris\n  * Damage to roofs, siding and windows\n  * Destruction of mobile homes\n  * Likely tree damage\n\n\n\n## Tornado Warning safety guidance:\n\nThe National Weather Service urged residents to:\n\n  * Take cover immediately.\n  * Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.\n  * Avoid windows.\n  * If outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the nearest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.\n\n\n\n**Stay connected with FOX LOCAL.
