"textContent": "_The Forest Grove Police Log is written by the Forest Grove Police Department. News in the Grove does not write, edit, or alter the contents of the police log._\n\n* * *\n\nJune 5 – June 11, 2026\n\nDuring this time frame, Forest Grove police officers were engaged in 456 incidents, both reported and self-initiated, averaging 65 calls per day.\n\nThese are a few of those calls:\n\n * A caller reported they were thinking of buying a motorcycle they found on a social media marketplace – but that the seller was becoming increasingly sketchy and ‘sus.’ After a little digging, officers found the caller’s gut was right: the motorcycle was confirmed stolen and the seller had an outstanding felony warrant from another city. Police from that jurisdiction were notified.\n * Police are investigating after an unknown subject broke into one of the university buildings and walked off with several thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment.\n * A caller reported a possible drug syndicate was alive and well at one of the local pizza establishments after a staff member offered the caller a discount due to a mistake in the order – which he took to be a signal to exchange illicit substances.\n * Police were called to a local fuel station where a driver pulled away from the pump with the nozzle still in their vehicle, tearing the hose off. The driver stayed on scene and insurance information was exchanged; no crime.\n * Police responded to a report of a broken water line on Pacific Avenue. On arrival, officers found a sprinkler had been misaligned. The sprinkler was turned back toward the grass.\n * Officers were dispatched to a report of a physical altercation aboard an eastbound bus. One subject had disembarked prior to police arrival but was located nearby a short time later. The instigating party was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with public transportation; he was issued a hefty citation in lieu of a trip to jail.\n * A driver called 911 to report their passenger had lost consciousness, possibly due to a drug overdose, while they were making their way along Highway 47 in the middle of the night. Officers and deputies responded to the location where the driver had pulled over and deployed several rounds of Narcan – an antidote to opioid overdose. The passenger regained consciousness and was evaluated by medical personnel on scene but refused any further medical assistance.\n * A caller reported they had met worldwide film sensation Johnny Depp online over an anonymous and reportedly extra-secure social media app and had provided him with personal and banking information. The Forest Grove Police Department reminds the public to never send any funds or personal information to anyone you do not know personally and to always use caution when discussing personal details on social media, especially if the individual purports to be a celebrity.\n * Night shift officers were called to a report of a physical altercation outside a local watering hole. On arrival, officers sorted out that a disagreement turned into insults and then spilled into the street, with one intoxicated party taking swings at another, while still another attempted to intervene. The instigating party arrested for harassment and disorderly conduct; further charges were added after methamphetamine was found on his person. He was lodged at the jail.\n * Dayshift officers were called for a welfare check after a contractor located a highly intoxicated resident on the ground in between furniture. The resident was up and alert upon police arrival and declined any medical attention.\n\n\n\nDuring the week, officers also made 85 traffic stops, 23 welfare checks, and 11 arrests.",
