During this time frame, Forest Grove police officers were engaged in 477 incidents, both reported and self-initiated, averaging 68 calls per day.
These are a few of those calls:
- A newspaper deliverer reported coming across a woman who looked to be experiencing memory issues wandering around a neighborhood street. Officers were able to track down her address and escorted her home.
- A caller reported they had been tazed by their (presumably soon to be ex) significant other, who then took off running. The alleged assailant was located by drone hiding behind a shed a few blocks away. While she adamantly denied having or using any sort of conducted energy device, the one that was found in the immediate vicinity told a slightly different story. She was arrested for assault and menacing, among other charges, as well as violating their parole, and lodged at the jail.
- A caller reported that she and her children were being yelled at and filmed by another tenant while they were using the playground at an apartment complex. Officers determined that no crimes had been committed but encouraged them to call back if the situation escalated.
- A late-night caller reported a group of people smoking, playing with lighters, and loitering around a gas station well after hours. Officers located a group out skateboarding, but determined that while it was quite late, they were not violating any laws or ordinances; no lighters or other incendiary devices were observed.
- Police were called to a report of a fight outside a local restaurant, during which one man was allegedly assaulting another man in a vehicle while multiple individuals were attempting to intervene. Officers ultimately sorted out that the assailant grew angry after the victim allegedly used his video lottery machine, cheating him out of nine dollars. The instigator was arrested on multiple charges and lodged at the jail.
- Police were called to a neighborhood residence from which screaming and yelling could be heard. On arrival, officers located a group of middle school students who were out celebrating the impending end of the school year.
- Officers are investigating after two subjects broke into an apartment in the middle of the night and stole several items, allegedly at gunpoint. An extensive area check and K9 track were unsuccessful. The case is still under investigation at the time of publishing.
- Employees at a local store flagged down an FGPD officer to report that two women had just moments ago wheeled a cart full of groceries out the door without paying. While they were initially reluctant to return the items, officers explained the error of their ways and potential consequences. The items were returned and the store declined prosecution, however both individuals were trespassed from the location.
- While officers were following up on an investigation, they just so happened to cross paths with an individual who had an outstanding warrant from 2009. The wanted individual was subsequently arrested and lodged at the jail.
- A store reported a customer snuck several items into a bag, attempted to pass them off as paid for merchandise when accosted by staff, and drove off. Officers located the vehicle in a nearby fast-food parking lot. The stolen items were recovered, and the thief was issued a hefty citation in lieu of a trip to jail.
- Police were called to a reported prowler attempting to pick the lock at a multi-unit residence in the middle of the night. On arrival police located the man who lived at the location attempting to get into his residence. No crime.
During the week, officers also made 78 traffic stops, 26 welfare checks, and 11 arrests.
