"textContent": "Washington County Sheriff's Office detectives are asking the public for help finding more victims of Jacob Joaquin Mandes Sr., a 53-year-old man indicted last month on 19 felony counts of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse.\n\nDetectives began investigating Mandes on May 16 after the Astoria Police Department contacted them with information that he had told a family member he sexually assaulted a child in Cornelius, the sheriff's office said.\n\nViolent Crimes Unit detectives developed probable cause to arrest Mandes for crimes the sheriff's office said happened over the past 10 years. Working with Astoria police and the Clatsop and Columbia county sheriff's offices, detectives had him arrested the same day the report was made.\n\nOn May 20, a Washington County grand jury indicted Mandes on:\n\n * Two counts of first-degree rape\n * Two counts of first-degree sodomy\n * Two counts of second-degree sodomy\n * Two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration\n * 11 counts of second-degree sexual abuse\n\n\n\nA judge ordered Mandes held without the possibility of release while the case is pending. Additional charges are possible, the sheriff's office said.\n\nDetectives believe there may be more victims. Mandes has lived or worked in Washington, Columbia and Clatsop counties, and his address history includes Cornelius, Hillsboro, Astoria and Vernonia.\n\nAnyone who wants to speak with detectives can call 503-846-2500 and reference case 50-26-6744.\n\nThe sheriff's office said it released Mandes' booking photo under Oregon House Bill 3273, which allows law enforcement to publish booking photos to help identify additional criminal activity.",
