"textContent": "_The Forest Grove Police Log is written by the Forest Grove Police Department. News in the Grove does not write, edit, or alter the contents of the police log._\n\n* * *\n\nDuring this time frame, Forest Grove police officers were engaged in 392 incidents, both reported and self-initiated, averaging 56 calls per day.\n\nThese are a few of those calls:\n\n * A caller reported that a man punched out and climbed through her vehicle window while they were attempting to drop off their ballots at the box in front of the library, adding that the man appeared to be going after another vehicle. The man was immediately located pounding on the police station windows. Officers were able to detain the man, but not before a brief fight ensued during which one officer was bit on the hand. The suspect was arrested, cleared at the hospital, and lodged on numerous charges including Robbery, Theft, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest.\n * Witnesses called in about a possible rolling domestic (a disturbance or fight between people occurring in a vehicle) making its way down David Hill Road. The parties had separated upon police arrival and advised officers that their heated argument was only verbal. Officers did note, however, that one of the individuals was intoxicated – which just so happened to be a violation of their probation, earning them a courtesy ride to jail.\n * A caller reported they had loaned their bike to a friend of a friend to run an errand and that the friend – whose name the caller did not know - had not yet returned roughly two hours later. After a brief conversation, the caller decided they’d give the friend a little more time and call back if need be.\n * Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a parked car along Main Street late at night. None of the occupants were injured, however noticeably intoxicated, underage driver was arrested for DUII. The driver was later found to have twice the legal BAC and lodged at the jail.\n * An anonymous caller reported someone had stolen his socks and requested that police locate and return them but provided few other details. Unfortunately, with no contact information provided, officers had nothing to go on, and the case of the purloined hosiery remains a mystery.\n * A caller reported they had purchased a significant amount of Pokémon cards for a large sum of money from a seller on social media that were later found to be fake –which was news to the seller. Police advised this was a civil matter and suggested that a professional would have to be the determiner of the cards’ authenticity. No crime.\n * A driver called police to report he was following what he believed to be an intoxicated driver through the northwest part of town late at night. Meanwhile, police received a call from a different driver in the same vicinity, in a car matching the make and model of the alleged suspect vehicle in the previous call, stating she was being followed by a vehicle matching the description of the first caller’s – adding that the vehicle following her did not have their headlamps illuminated despite it being well after dark. The first driver stopped their pursuit and passed the baton to police, who then contacted the second driver at a location where she felt safe. Officers found no evidence she was under the influence and explained the situation; the first driver was advised there was a misunderstanding. No crime.\n * A caller reported finding a large stash of mail that appeared to be discarded. On inspection, officers determined the mail and additional items in the area were likely stolen from a vehicle. Police are investigating.\n * A caller reported a man and woman stole a plant from outside of a store. On arrival, officers found the pair – both of whom are well known to police – had harvested some items from a trash can. They were advised to return the rubbish to its receptacle and move along, which they did without incident.\n * A caller reported they recently moved into a location and located what appeared to be a human tibia bone while they were digging in their back yard. The medical examiner was consulted and stated that while they were more than confident the bone was not human, it was better to be safe than sorry and forwarded photos to the state forensic anthropologist for further examination. Forest Grove Police seized the bone for safe keeping and possible destruction should it be found to not be from a human.\n * Police were called to a non-injury, minor fender bender in the parking lot of one of the local schools just minutes before dismissal. Officers assisted with the exchange of information. The Forest Grove Police Department reminds drivers to be extra careful in school zones parking lots drop-off and pickup times, especially in the last weeks of school which can be particularly hectic.\n * An anonymous caller reported yelling and commotion from a nearby apartment that suggested a possible domestic altercation. On contact, police found the occupants were engaged in a pillow fight.\n\n\n\nDuring the week, officers also made 30 traffic stops, 10 welfare checks, and 6 arrests.",
