Susan McLain, the longtime House District 29 incumbent, faced a primary challenge from Hillsboro School Board member Mark Watson in Tuesday's Democratic primary, with McLain taking a commanding early lead in initial results released at 8 p.m.\n\nInitial results showed McLain at 75.31% (2,281 votes) and Watson at 24.36% (738 votes).\n\nNo Republican filed for the District 29 seat in 2026, leaving the Republican primary ballot empty.
