"textContent": "_The Forest Grove Police Log is written by the Forest Grove Police Department. News in the Grove does not write, edit, or alter the contents of the police log._\n\n* * *\n\nDuring this time frame, Forest Grove police officers were engaged in 451 incidents, both reported and self-initiated, averaging 64 calls per day.\n\nThese are a few of those calls:\n\n * Multiple callers reported being contacted by ‘tech support’ for a major company alleging that child pornography had been found on their computers, then requesting remote access, bank information, and/or money sent to have the images removed else they involve law enforcement. This is a scam that has become more prevalent in recent months; the FGPD advises the community that legitimate tech support does not cold call residents, and to never give money or personal information to someone you do not know personally.\n * A caller reported passing someone sitting on a bicycle who appeared to have their head inside a box. Police contacted the individual who advised she was resting while waiting for a friend.\n * Police were called after a rumble of 15-20 juveniles reportedly broke out in a parking lot. The youths dispersed before officers arrive, and officers were unable to locate any witnesses.\n * A caller reported someone was coming through the neighborhood posting what appeared to be political flyers only to have another individual come by approximately 10 minutes later to pick up those flyers. Offices checked the area but were unable to find anyone matching the descriptions or doing any sort of canvassing.\n * Police received multiple late-night reports regarding a large, loud party of college students presumably celebrating the last days of classes. Upon arrival, police indeed found some 50 revelers at the location engaged in various forms of loud. Being the party poopers that we are, officers explained the applicable ordinances being violated and the hosts decided to call it a night.\n * A late-night caller reported she had accidentally locked herself in her new apartment’s bathroom. Officers assisted in contacting the complex’s maintenance department who were able to successfully liberate the caller.\n * Police were called to a report of a possible fight in an apartment complex where things could reportedly be heard being thrown around. On arrival, police spoke to the occupants who advised they had a heated verbal altercation, but that only words were exchanged. They agreed to separate for the day.\n * While conducting extra patrols at a local shopping center, an eagle-eyed officer spotted a man known to have an outstanding warrant. The man was arrested and lodged at the jail. Throughout the week, officers contacted 7 individuals with outstanding warrants who were subsequently arrested or cited.\n * A caller reported a suspicious person loitering about in the bike lane on Pacific Avenue staring at vehicles passing by. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.\n * A caller reported a suspicious individual climbed into a neighbor’s car when no one was supposed to be at the location. On contact, officers found the individual was suffering from dementia and had wandered from their residence a short distance away. No crime; the individual was returned to their family.\n * A caller reported someone yelled at a group of kids through a nearby window.\n\n\n\nDuring the week, officers also made 68 traffic stops, 24 welfare checks, and 12 arrests.",
