"textContent": "The Forest Grove Farmers Market opens its 2026 season Wednesday, May 6, with weekly markets running every Wednesday through Oct. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Forest Grove.\n\nThis year is the market's 22nd. Adelante Mujeres, the nonprofit that runs the market, said in a press release that more than 5,000 community members visit each week. The market fills Main Street from Pacific Ave. to 21st Ave. and on 21st Ave. to College Way to the east and halfway down the block to the west.\n\nAdelante Mujeres is marking the season with what the nonprofit is calling a \"Golden Birthday\" celebration on July 22. Other events include a \"Welcome Back\" event with Pacific University on Sept. 2, and the market's annual Day of the Dead event on Oct. 28.\n\nReturning vendors include Pan El Quetzal, known for homemade Guatemalan bread; Rosa's Churros, with stuffed churros; and Asona Cuisine, serving West African dishes.\n\n\"We're thrilled to welcome back many of our favorite musicians and vendors,\" said Elizabeth Lucas-Lucas, farmers market coordinator at Adelante Mujeres, in the press release. \"I'm especially excited about the new businesses joining us this year, including The Yogurt Guys, Newks Hot Sauce, Laughing Tree Spice Company, and Garliki. Each one brings something unique and delicious to our market community.\"\n\nLive music continues each market day, with performances including Bell Tower, an indie bluegrass band from Eugene.\n\nAdelante Mujeres said it is expanding sustainability efforts at the market this year, including more reusable dishware, expanded food-waste diversion through the Waste Center, and recruiting vendors who use reused materials and environmentally conscious products.\n\nThe farmers market is part of Adelante Mujeres' Market Access Program, a small-business incubator for Latine farmers and entrepreneurs in the organization's Regenerative Agriculture and Empresas programs.\n\n\"The Adelante Farmers Market allows our community to have direct access to fresh local foods,\" said Jodi Monroy, Market Access Manager at Adelante Mujeres, in the press release. \"It's a lively space where families can gather and local businesses can grow. This season, we're also deepening our commitment to sustainability, which helps our community and our planet.\"\n\nMore information is at adelantefarmersmarket.org.",
