"textContent": "Forest Grove police are warning residents about a door-to-door scam in which individuals claim to be following up on an energy-efficiency form allegedly included with Forest Grove utility bills.\n\nAccording to a Forest Grove Police Department post on Facebook Tuesday, neither Forest Grove Utility Billing nor Forest Grove Light & Power issued any such form.\n\nThose behind the scam have been knocking on residents' doors and asking to look at utility bills on the pretext of following up on the non-existent form, the police department said.\n\n\"In these cases, the companies may actually be legit, but the tactic is a ruse and scammy... Essentially they're hoping you'll open the door by associating themselves with something that sounds official and by using your name,\" the department said.\n\nForest Grove Light & Power is the city's municipal electric utility, serving customers in Forest Grove and portions of the Hillside, Kansas City and David Hill communities.\n\n\"I will be your main and probably only contact person for ANY of your Forest Grove Energy Efficiency Projects,\" added Forest Grove Light & Power Senior Administrative Assistant Michelle Stromberg, who directed callers to dial 503-992-3253.\n\nResidents should be careful when personal information with door-to-door salespeople, the department said. Police said residents contact the county's non-emergency line at 503-629-0111 if they believe they have been scammed or given out personal information to scammers.",
