"textContent": "Governor Tina Kotek announced March 27 that she is accepting applications for a judicial vacancy on the Washington County Circuit Court following the planned retirement of Judge Theodore E. Sims.\n\nSims' retirement takes effect June 1.\n\nKotek said she will fill the position by appointment. Interested applicants must submit completed application forms by 5 p.m. on April 16 to Shevaun Gutridge at shevaun.gutridge@oregon.gov.\n\nOregon law requires that judicial appointees be a U.S. citizen, an Oregon resident and a member of the Oregon State Bar. Candidates must also be a resident of or have a principal office in the judicial district or an adjacent district.\n\nThe judicial interest form is available online. Questions about the appointment process can be directed to Gutridge at 503-378-6246.",
