Missing woman last seen in Verboort found in Hillsboro
Ryah Naomi Jones, the 22-year-old woman reported missing Monday in Verboort, was found Tuesday morning near the Hillsboro Public Library at Shute Park after an overnight search involving multiple agencies, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies located Jones after a tip was called in reporting a possible sighting.
Jones' family reported her missing Monday and told deputies they had concerns for her safety. Security camera footage showed her leaving the family home on foot at about 10:50 a.m., heading east on NW Verboort Road, the sheriff's office said. Because the area is sparsely populated, there was limited security video available.
The Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team coordinated cadet ground searchers, drone searches and an airplane over miles of fields, roads and waterways in the area. The search continued through the night.
SAR coordinators also brought in search teams from Clackamas, Multnomah, Yamhill and Marion counties, along with the Hillsboro Police Department, Portland Mountain Rescue, Hood River SAR and Mountain Wave SAR.
The sheriff's office asked the public for tips, which it said yielded numerous calls to dispatch. Callers provided dashcam footage and other information that helped narrow the timeline.
Jones was ultimately located Tuesday morning near the Hillsboro library after a community member called in a tip.
