  "textContent": "A house fire Sunday evening displaced three residents from their home near the intersection of A Street and 17th Ave. in Forest Grove.\n\nForest Grove firefighters were dispatched at 4:54 p.m. after residents reported light smoke on the second floor. When crews arrived, they found increased levels of black smoke coming from the upper portion of the house, according to a press release from the agency.\n\nFirefighters quickly located the fire and extinguished it before it could spread to other rooms.\n\nForest Grove firefighters respond to a house fire on A Street. (Forest Grove Fire & Rescue)\n\nTwo of the three residents suffered smoke inhalation. They were assessed on scene by medical crews but did not require transport to a hospital, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue said.\n\nThe three residents are receiving assistance from Red Cross Cascades for temporary housing. The house sustained water and smoke damage, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. According to county property records, the home was built in 1918.\n\nForest Grove Fire & Rescue was assisted on scene by Cornelius Fire Department, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, Gaston Fire District, AMR, the Forest Grove Police Department, Red Cross Cascades, Forest Grove Light & Power and NW Natural.\n\nThe agency reminded residents to have working smoke alarms in each bedroom as well as outside sleeping areas on each floor.",
