TAMPA, FL — Corner Haus, a creative co-op space with flowers, fitness classes, matcha, coffee and retail, is targeting a late June or July 1st opening at 7112 N. Florida Ave., Unit 7118, Tampa, FL 33604, co-owner Gabbie Welvaert told Business Debut.

Welvaert owns Wall Flower Events & Co., and co-owner Gabbie Mondejar owns Sage Coterie. Both businesses are located inside Corner Haus.

What to Expect

Corner Haus is a creative co-op space designed to bring multiple local businesses under one roof, Welvaert told Business Debut. The space will include a flower shop, coffee and matcha cart, photography studio, fitness studio, retail market and a event rental space.

The 1,800-square-foot space is divided into two main areas. Mondejar’s side will house Sage Coterie’s photography studio and serve as an open studio for mat Pilates, yoga, ballet, contemporary and jazz classes, Welvaert told Business Debut.

The studio space will also be available for private events, including baby showers, bridal showers, fitness events and creator events.

The Vision

Welvaert’s side of Corner Haus will include Wall Flower Events & Co.’s flower shop, where guests can build fresh bouquets at a live flower bar. Customers will be able to choose stems and have Welvaert arrange them on-site, she told Business Debut.

Flour My Day, owned by Tatiana Maldonado, will operate the coffee and matcha side of the business. The mobile cart will serve coffee and matcha, including strawberry matcha, banana pudding matcha and cookie butter matcha, along with espresso drinks such as lattes, flat whites and Americanos, Welvaert told Business Debut.

Maldonado also makes sourdough, and Corner Haus plans to host occasional Sourdough Saturdays with market-style baked goods, Welvaert told Business Debut.

The retail section will feature local women-owned businesses selling items such as jewelry, candles, incense, room sprays, handmade bathing suits, purses from Peru, athletic wear and hand-beaded sun catchers.

“We like to say "where we meet you at every corner", which is where Corner Haus came in,” Welvaert told Business Debut. “It’s like a mixture of a place where you can kind of literally get a little bit of everything if you wanted to.”

Opening Timeline

Corner Haus is targeting June 26th, with July 1st as a backup opening date, Welvaert told Business Debut. The business is currently operating in a pop-up style while waiting on final permits for the coffee and matcha side.

Welvaert said the team took over a vacant space in January and renovated much of it themselves.

Hours

Corner Haus plans to open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
