"textContent": "**LAKE PLACID, FL —** Cuban Sabor Cafe, owned by Jazmin Ley and her husband Adoni Chao, is preparing to open at 9 South Main Avenue, Lake Placid, FL 33852. The grab-and-go Cuban bakery concept is targeting a May 8 opening, just ahead of Mother’s Day, Ley told Business Debut.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nCuban Sabor Cafe will operate primarily as a bakery-style, grab-and-go concept with limited seating, offering both quick service and a small dine-in option. Ley told Business Debut the space will start with six seats and a bench, with flexibility to expand based on community demand.\n\nThe cafe is designed to reflect both culture and personal history, anchored by what Ley calls a “memory wall,” where each recipe is tied to a person or moment in her life.\n\n“There’s a story behind everything that I’m making,” Ley told Business Debut. “It comes from someone, from friends or family, and I’m keeping them alive in my own way.”\n\nPicture courtesy of Cuban Sabor Cafe.\n\n## Menu and Vision\n\nThe menu will focus on Cuban bakery staples, sandwiches, and rotating specialties, all made from scratch.\n\nGuests can expect an assortment of pastelitos, including guava, guava and cheese, meat, coconut, and rotating seasonal flavors such as mango. Sandwich offerings will include Cuban staples like lechon (pulled pork with onions) and the traditional Cuban sandwich made with ham, cheese, and pork.\n\nLey will also prepare handmade croquettes in ham and chicken varieties, with potential rotating options like chorizo or fish depending on demand. Cuban coffee, Cuban toast, and sugarcane juice will also be part of the daily offerings.\n\n“All the baked goods, everything that I’m making, is homemade,” Ley told Business Debut. “I learned the recipes from people in my life, and then I put my own twist on them.”\n\nThe concept will also include catering-style items such as miniature pastries and party trays.\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nThe team is targeting a May 8 opening, just before Mother’s Day.\n\n## Hours\n\nLey told Business Debut she plans to initially operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, with adjustments to follow based on customer patterns.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nA website and social media are coming soon.\n\n* * *\n\nDrive community buzz with Business DebutWe aim to create local buzz before you even open.Business Debut | New Business Openings in the SoutheastRoss McWaters",
