"textContent": "**FORT LAUDERDALE, FL —** Jerry’s Jerk is targeting a June 10 opening at 4261 NW 12th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33313, owner Jerome Lounds told Business Debut.\n\nLounds said the opening date is still dependent on permitting, but the restaurant is aiming to bring its Jamaican and Caribbean menu to the neighborhood this summer.\n\nThe fast-casual restaurant will mark Lounds’ first brick-and-mortar location in South Florida. He also said he plans to bring his food truck to Fort Lauderdale and operate it at a separate location as part of the business’s local expansion.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nJerry’s Jerk will serve Jamaican and Caribbean dishes including jerk chicken, jerk pork, fried chicken, oxtail, curry goat, fish, soup and festival, Lounds told Business Debut. He said the restaurant is expected to seat about 15 to 20 guests inside.\n\nLounds said he wants customers to come in expecting consistent, well-prepared meals with strong flavor. “Whenever they want a good meal, they can come and enjoy it,” he told Business Debut.\n\n## Menu and Vision\n\nLounds said cooking has long been part of his life, dating back to his upbringing in Jamaica. He told Business Debut that food became both a passion and a craft for him over time, and that he eventually decided to turn that into a business after seeing too many people spend money on meals that did not meet expectations.\n\n“I just want to deliver great food and excellent services,” Lounds told Business Debut.\n\nHe also said he wants the business to support the surrounding area by creating jobs and opportunities for both younger and older workers. Lounds told Business Debut he hopes Jerry’s Jerk can be “a part of the community,” help build it and “always give back.”\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nJerry’s Jerk is targeting a June 10 opening, though Lounds said that remains subject to final permits. He told Business Debut the business is moving forward with plans for both the restaurant and the food truck in Fort Lauderdale.\n\n## Hours\n\nLounds said the restaurant is expected to operate Monday through Saturday. Planned hours are 11 a.m.—9:30 p.m. during the week and 11 a.m.—10 p.m. on weekends, though he said that schedule could change.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nLounds said a website is still in the works. Follow Jerry’s Jerk on Instagram for updates.\n\n* * *\n\nDrive community buzz with Business DebutWe aim to create local buzz before you even open.Business Debut | New Business Openings in the SoutheastRoss McWaters",
