"textContent": "BOONE, NC — Goofy Foot Taproom and Brewery is preparing to open at 523 West King Street, Boone, NC 28607, with owner Jeff Thompson telling Business Debut the team is targeting an opening in about two weeks.\n\nThompson said the Boone location has been in the works for about three years and will mark the brand’s first expansion beyond its original High Point taproom, which opened in 2018.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nThe Boone location will follow Goofy Foot’s hybrid model, combining a taproom with a small-batch brewery. Thompson told Business Debut the business typically keeps 16 to 18 taps in rotation, with most dedicated to other breweries’ beers and a smaller selection reserved for Goofy Foot’s own brews.\n\nThompson said the focus is largely on North Carolina breweries, giving guests a chance to try beers from across the state in one place. He told Business Debut the goal is to create a community-oriented taproom with live music on weekends, trivia during the week, and board games.\n\nThe Boone space will also have a two-floor setup. Thompson told Business Debut the upstairs level will serve beer, wine, liquor, and THC slushies, while the downstairs basement area will operate as a full cocktail bar with a more intimate setting.\n\nThompson told Business Debut guests can expect snack items such as pretzels and popcorn, along with menus from nearby local businesses for those who want to order food in.\n\nIn addition to beer and cocktails, the taproom will offer nonalcoholic options including NA beers, NA seltzers, NA ciders, and soft drinks, Thompson told Business Debut.\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nThe Boone location is targeting an opening within about two weeks, Thompson told Business Debut. He said the project was delayed after hurricane-related setbacks paused construction in the area.\n\n## Hours\n\nThompson told Business Debut the Boone hours are planned as 1 p.m.—9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 12 p.m.—10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12 p.m.—7 p.m. Sunday.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nFollow on the website.\n\nFollow on Facebook.",
