"textContent": "**CORNELIUS, NC** — Your Mom's Donuts is preparing to open a new location at 20601 Torrence Chapel Rd Suite 106, Cornelius, NC 28031. Owned by couple Dustin and Colleen Wanemacher, this will be the brand's third location.\n\nWanemacher told Business Debut the shop is taking over the former Sweet Cakes Bakery space and is being built out to support the brand’s next phase of growth.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nThe Cornelius shop will span about 1,400 square feet, with most of the space dedicated to the kitchen. Wanemacher said customers can expect donuts and a coffee program, along with limited indoor and outdoor seating, though he expects most of the business to be takeout.\n\nThe space was already set up for bakery use, but the team is adding a ventilation hood, a new display case and other front-of-house updates before opening.\n\n## History\n\nYour Mom's Donuts is expanding under Wanemacher after he acquired the brand in 2023. He said the original owner started the business out of her home around 2013, later opening a Matthews shop and adding a Park Road location in Charlotte.\nWanemacher said he first discovered the brand at the Davidson Farmers Market, where long lines caught his attention years before he bought the business. He loved the product, specialty square donuts, and quickly became a fan.\n\nWhen he later saw the company was set to close, he reached out to the owner and purchased it instead. “There’s no way this shop can close,” Wanemacher told Business Debut, pointing to the brand’s following and customer response.\n\nHe said the business already had a strong product, while his background in supply chain, private equity consulting and operations has helped shape the next chapter.\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nAn exact timeline for the Cornelius location is still pending. Keep up to date with the brand on their social media and website below.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nFollow along on their website, Instagram, and Facebook.\n\n* * *\n\n### Opening a business?\n\nLearn how we distribute press releases to local readers daily!\n\nDrive community buzz with Business DebutWe aim to create local buzz before you even open.Business Debut | New Business Openings in the SoutheastRoss McWaters",
