Wings Etc. — Venice

Status: Open now!

What to expect: Full-service neighborhood sports bar with about 90 indoor seats and 35 patio seats. TVs throughout create a game-day atmosphere suited for families and groups.

Menu highlights: Wings, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads and shareable appetizers focused on casual comfort food.

Hours: Planned Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–1 a.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.

Who’s behind it: Owner Tim McGivern, a longtime Venice operator launching the state’s first Wings Etc. location with help from his family.

Coach’s Bar and Grill — Venice

What to expect: Restaurant-first bar and grill designed as a downtown neighborhood gathering spot. Nearly 100 indoor seats plus a 40-seat patio with sports programming throughout.

Menu highlights: Scratch-made ribeye steaks, lobster rolls, crab cakes, Cajun pasta, half-pound burgers and inventive starters like cheeseburger egg rolls. Weekday rotating lunch specials are planned.

Hours: Expected daily 11 a.m.–11 p.m. with extended weekend hours and potential brunch service.

Who’s behind it: Owner Rob Burton, formerly of Coach’s Corner Grill in Virginia, operating alongside his wife and daughter.

Kitchen Social — Sarasota

What to expect: Scratch-kitchen concept with an indoor-outdoor layout, large patio and nano wall design. Seating for about 145 guests across multiple dining zones.

Menu highlights: Globally influenced dishes spanning Indian, Asian, Mexican and Italian flavors. Signature cheddar scallion biscuits and weekend “cinna biscuit” are expected standouts.

Hours: Monday–Wednesday 3 p.m.–9 p.m.; Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

Who’s behind it: Founder Brian O’Malley and longtime partners expanding the Ohio-based brand into Florida for the first time.

Duff’s Famous Wings — Sarasota

What to expect: Family-friendly sports bar centered on Buffalo-style wings and casual American fare. Designed for game-watching and group dining.

Menu highlights: Traditional wings with escalating heat levels, smashburgers, salads, pizza logs and classic pub appetizers.

Who’s behind it: Franchisee Pomegranate Capital, which also operates the Tampa location. This will be the brand’s second Florida restaurant.

The Shebeen Irish Pub & Kitchen — Sarasota

Address: 6607 Gateway Ave., Sarasota, FL 34231

Status: Coming soon!

What to expect: Restored historic pub space with traditional Irish snugs, multiple dining rooms and seating for about 135 guests. The move allows for larger events and easier access.

Menu highlights: Irish classics including fish and chips, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, plus handmade sausage rolls and rotating weekly specials.

Hours: Planned daily opening at 11 a.m.; kitchen closing at 9 p.m.; bar open until about midnight.

Who’s behind it: Owner Eileen Carrigan, continuing the legacy of the longtime Sarasota Irish pub originally founded as Pub 32.
