"textContent": "**DAYTONA BEACH, FL** - Via Canaletto Bistro & Lounge, owned by Leon and Amy Geller, is targeting a late March or early April opening at 240 S. Beach St., Daytona, FL 32114. The restaurant will open ahead of the couple’s third planned location in South Daytona, which remains in development.\n\nThe Beach Street concept will operate under Via Canaletto 3 LLC and marks the second location to open, as renovations and permitting continue at the South Daytona site at 1871 S Ridgewood Ave., South Daytona, FL 32119.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nLocated across from Jackie Robinson Ballpark, the Beach Street restaurant is undergoing a full renovation and refresh. The space will feature a casual upscale atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, chandeliers, and an industrial-inspired design.\n\nPlans include live music, a late-night lounge component with jazz or a pianist, and an outdoor bar with a pass-through window connecting interior and exterior service areas, pending city approvals. Once fully built out, the restaurant expects to accommodate at least 120 guests, with potential expansion to 140-150 seats after the outdoor bar is complete.\n\nThe restaurant will be fully handicap accessible, addressing limitations from the building’s prior configuration.\n\n## Menu and Vision\n\nVia Canaletto, named after Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach, will offer a full-service dining experience with a la carte options ranging from small bites and cocktails to multi-course family meals.\n\nMenu highlights include scratch-made pastas, lasagna, chicken parmesan, steaks, pizzas, and calzones. The Beach Street location will also introduce tapas and craft beer selections, including local brews.\n\nImages from Via Canaletto Bistro & Lounge website\n\n\nLeon Geller, a former Recon Marine and business owner, partnered with Chef Antonio Mazzella, a native of Ponza, Italy, who has more than 40 years of culinary experience and previously operated restaurants in Italy and Florida.\n\n\n“My favorite is the eggplant and the bucatini amatriciana,” Geller told Business Debut. “Everything’s from scratch and so fresh.”\n\nWhile the New Smyrna Beach location leans fine dining in a historic home setting, the Daytona concept will focus on a more casual, lounge-style experience.\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nThe team is targeting an opening by the end of March or early April.\n\nThe South Daytona location remains in development and will open following additional renovation and permitting approvals.\n\n## Hours\n\nThe restaurant plans to operate seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Late-night lounge hours on Fridays and Saturdays may extend to midnight or 1 a.m., pending city approval.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nVisit their Facebook and website to learn more.\n\n* * *\n\n Are you a restaurant vendor?
