"textContent": "**CHARLOTTE, NC** — Packard Tavern, a new concept from High Tide Hospitality, is targeting a mid-May opening at 222 S Church St, Charlotte, NC 28202.\n\nPresident and co-founder Paul Manley told Business Debut the restaurant is in mid-to-late construction, with millwork and tile installation underway as the space takes shape inside Packard Place, a building originally constructed in 1929.\n\n## **What to Expect**\n\nThe 4,800-square-foot restaurant will offer approximately 130 seats across the main dining room, bar and two private dining spaces. Guests can expect a 35-seat private dining room and a 16-seat chef’s table room in addition to the primary dining area.\n\nLocated along Church Street near boutique hotels, Truist Field and several uptown parks, Packard Tavern is designed as what Manley described as “an upscale version of an everyday tavern” for both travelers and locals.\n\nThe space will feature booth-heavy seating, exposed natural walnut walls and partitions, marble bar tops and custom walnut tables. Black and brass lighting fixtures and rounded booths are intended to create a refined, comfortable atmosphere.\n\n## Menu and Vision\n\nPackard Tavern will center its menu around tavern fare with a wood-fired focus. A brick oven will be used for roasted vegetables, chicken and fish, along with housemade focaccia and a made-to-order bread service.\n\nThe menu is expected to include steaks, pasta dishes and domestic seafood sourced through High Tide Hospitality’s existing supplier network.\n\n“The idea of a tavern is that it kind of has a little bit of something for everyone,” Manley told Business Debut.\n\n## Opening Timeline\n\nThe team is aiming for a mid-May opening, though a firm date has not yet been announced.\n\n## Hours\n\nPackard Tavern plans to operate six days a week, with the specific closing day still to be determined. The restaurant will initially offer dinner service only, opening daily at 4 p.m.\n\n## Follow for More\n\nVisit the High Tide Hospitality Website.\n\nFollow Packard Tavern on Instagram.\n\n* * *\n\n Are you a restaurant vendor?
