Owner Shelby Lovely told Business Debut the restaurant will debut with a community-focused soft opening event before launching full-time service.\n\nThe March 1 soft opening will run from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and feature free food, bounce houses and family-friendly activities as an introduction to the community.\n\n## What to Expect\n\nBellies Kitchen will offer full-service dining with seating for 68 guests. The concept centers on Southern comfort food inspired by home-cooked meals.\n\n“We want it to be as soon as you walk in the door it feels like you walked into a family member's house,” Lovely told Business Debut. “From the time that you get in to the time that we leave we want you to feel comfortable like you're a part of the family.”\n\nThe interior design, furniture and overall layout are intended to reflect that at-home atmosphere.\n\n## Menu and Vision\n\nThe menu will focus on traditional Southern staples such as chicken and waffles, fried chicken, half-pound burgers and breakfast skillets.\n\nLovely said one standout item is the Hillbilly Skillet, which features a mix of meats and vegetables served over home fries with cheese and topped with eggs. She also pointed to the chicken and waffles as a personal favorite.\n\nThe restaurant marks Lovely’s first ownership venture, though she has worked in restaurants since she was 13.
