A KAIST research team has identified the real reason why anticancer drugs kill cancer cells—targeted anticancer therapies do not simply block cancer proteins but rather shut down the "protein factories" inside the cells, forcing them to undergo self-destruction. Consequently, the "two-faced protein" that plays a key role in this process is gaining attention as a breakthrough for treating patients with drug resistance.
