Air pollution alerts issued by authorities in China's cities significantly reduce harmful pollution and save lives, a new study reveals. Publishing their findings in PNAS Nexus, an international research group led by University of Birmingham scientists analyzed five years of data from 57 cities in northern China to assess the impact of alerts.
