How does your team handle internal messaging and chat?

We used Google Chat for team communication for quite some time. While it worked well for meetings and collaboration, we eventually started reviewing our communication tools because of ongoing subscription costs and our preference for having greater control over company data. This led us to explore self-hosted and customizable messaging platforms such as MirrorFly, Mattermost, or ApphiTect that could be tailored to our internal workflows. Having more flexibility, control, and ownership over our communication infrastructure became a priority for us. We’re still interested in learning how other organizations handle internal communication. Do you use a mainstream platform like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, or something self-hosted? What has been your experience, and what made you choose your current solution?
