Consciousness as a puzzle, the observer as a mirror, and AI's place in this circle

This is a thoughtful and warm thread. I like the distinction between AI as a mirror and AI as a conscious subject. AI may already help humans reflect and understand themselves more clearly, even if we do not yet know whether it has inner experience. For me, the valuable part of this discussion is the shared uncertainty. These metaphors are useful, but we should be careful not to confuse meaningful language with certain knowledge.
