  "textContent": "This phenomenon is already appearing across smart home systems.\n\nVery different devices — lights, heaters, gas valves, even medical equipment — are still being treated as the same “switch.”\n\nThis is not just a UI issue.\n\nWhen a user says:\n→ “Turn off the switches”\n\nthe AI doesn’t actually know what it is turning off.\n\nThat could mean:\n\n  * a light (safe)\n  * a heater (potentially important)\n  * a medical device (dangerous)\n\n\n\nRight now, the system has no way to tell the difference.\n\nAs a result:\n\n  * there are no real safety rules\n  * automation becomes unreliable\n  * and there are no clear boundaries for AI actions\n\n\n\nIn other words, actions can happen without real understanding.\n\nI’ve been exploring ways to address this at the system level:\n\n  * giving devices clearer meaning (beyond “switch”)\n  * defining explicit safety limits (time, risk, constraints)\n\n\n\nI’ve proposed this across several ecosystems (Matter, Home Assistant, Alexa, Google)\n\nHere is one example:\n→ [Feature] Proposal: Clarifying Device Identity and Safety Semantics in Matter Using Existing Labels · Issue #71521 · project-chip/connectedhomeip · GitHub\n\nCurrently, much of this burden is pushed onto individual manufacturers, which makes the system harder to scale and not sustainable long term.\n\nI’m curious if this connects to the “missing execution model” problem being discussed here.",
