What's up with the SRB2 Gitlab?

As I have been trying to cherry-pick things and otherwise browse the SRB2 Gitlab, its been so slow its become unusable and seems to do this daily.
Has there been any updates on why this is the case? It would be great to know why! Thanks in advance.
