Mindscape phase 3 problem

Hello, I'm at phase 3 of the facciolo boss fight and my character cannot transform into his ultimate form despite doing what the hint tells me to do which I suppose is waiting for the idle animation then pressing spin. The transformation animation begins then gets cut short. Has it got something to do with the fact that I play on version 2.2.15? Can anyone help? Thank you in advance
