The Land Bridge Empire: Why Zionism Was Never About Judaism — And What Anti-Zionists in the West Must Do Now

For those who have marched, signed petitions, called representatives, and are ready to move beyond what has failed.

For years, people in North America and Europe who oppose Zionism have been told: educate, march, call your representative, sign petitions. We’ve been told that if we just make enough noise, the system will listen.

It has not listened. It will not listen.

The current US‑led assault on Iran — encouraged privately by Saudi Arabia, confirmed by the New York Times and by President Trump — is not a “war for democracy.” It is the military clearance for a 2,300‑year imperial project: Western control of the land bridge that connects the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean.

Zionism is not mainly a Jewish nationalist movement. It is the forward operating base of a Euro‑American empire that has been trying to seize and hold that corridor since Alexander the Great marched through the Levant.

If you live inside the imperial core — the United States, Britain, Canada, the EU — your job is not to politely ask your politicians to stop. Your job is to disrupt the infrastructure that makes this empire possible: the weapons factories, the shipping ports, and the Christian nationalist ideology that sanctifies the violence.

This article reframes the struggle. It tells you what you are actually fighting, why your old tactics have failed, and what you can do tomorrow.

I. The Corridor: From Alexander to the Railway

Stop treating each Euro-American assault on Southwest Asia as a separate event. They are chapters of one story.

· 334–323 BCE: Alexander the Great conquers the Levant. The land bridge becomes the central artery of his empire. · 63 BCE — 7th century CE: Rome and then Byzantium fight for control. They build roads and forts to hold it. · 1099–1291: European Crusaders plant kingdoms, the first settler colonies in the world, on the corridor. When Acre falls in 1291, Europe loses direct overland access to Asian trade. · 1498 onward: Europeans search for alternatives — around Africa, across the Atlantic, through the Suez Canal (1869). But the prize remains a land route they control. · 1917–1948: The Balfour Declaration and the creation of “Israel” put a Western‑aligned state directly on the corridor. Britain, then the US, use it as a permanent military anchor. · 2023: The India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is announced. Its central piece is a railway from the UAE through Saudi Arabia and Jordan to “Israel.” It is the first Western‑controlled land bridge since 1291. · 2026: Iranian media threaten to target that railway. The US, with private Saudi encouragement, launches a major assault on Iran. The goal: remove the last state obstacle to the corridor.

When Acre fell, Europe lost direct overland access to Asian trade. That loss drove European powers onto the seas — sparking the age of exploration, the colonization of the Americas, the transatlantic slave trade, and the creation of the very empires that now seek to reclaim the land bridge. The corridor has never stopped shaping world history.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is history and current events. The railway is the point. The blood of Palestinians, Lebanese, Yemenis, Iranians, and, yes (no tears just facts), even Jewish “Israelis” is the price being paid to build it.

II. Zionism as Imperial Infrastructure

The standard story says Zionism was a Jewish response to European antisemitism — a movement for safety that sadly collided with Palestinian rights. That story is incomplete.

Zionism is primarily a Christian project. From the 1500s onward, English and American Protestants developed a theology of “Jewish restoration.” The Puritans saw themselves as the New Israel conquering a promised land (Native American lands). They believed the return of the Jews to Palestine would bring the Second Coming. This was not fringe; it was mainstream among the elites who shaped British and American policy — centuries before Theodor Herzl was born.

· The Balfour Declaration (1917) came from a British government steeped in this tradition. · The Blackstone Memorial (1891) — signed by 413 American leaders, including the Chief Justice, members of Congress, and governors — called on the US to restore Palestine to the Jews, 5 years before Herzl’s little pamphlet. · Woodrow Wilson, a Presbyterian, secretly approved the Balfour Declaration.

When “Israel” was created in 1948, the US immediately recognized it and made it the anchor of American military presence in the region. The “unsinkable aircraft carrier” was not a metaphor; it was the job.

The Gulf states, Jordan, and other Arab dynasties were not natural products of local politics. Britain created them after World War I — installed, subsidized, protected. Their ruling families survive today because the US guarantees their security. They are auxiliary pieces of the same imperial machinery.

Zionism is not a deviation from empire. It is the cutting edge of empire in the Levant. Jewish Zionists and “Israeli” soldiers are not passive tools. They pull triggers, fire shells, drop bombs. They are responsible AND they act inside a structure built and sustained by the imperial metropole.

III. The Christian Zionist Engine

If you are an anti‑Zionist in North America or Europe, you are surrounded by the ideological engine that keeps the corridor project alive: Christian Zionism.

· About 40–50 million American (and over 600 million evangelicals in the rest of the world) believe gathering all of the Jewish people in “Israel” and the “Holy Land” is a biblical requirement for the Second Coming. What comes after that? The comversion and/or death of Jewish people. · They are the most reliable voting bloc for unconditional US military aid to “Israel” — and now for war with Iran. · They are not a fringe. They are in Congress, the White House, and every level of government.

Christian Zionism is not about Jews. It is about controlling the corridor. The same theology that justified slaughtering Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island as “Canaanites” now sanctifies bombing Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran.

If you limit your activism to “interfaith dialogue” or appeals to “shared values,” you are engaging with a movement that has no intention of compromising. The Christian Zionist base is not confused. It is executing a millenia‑old plan.

IV. The Misdirection: Why “Jewish Power” Is Not the Engine

If you have been in anti‑Zionist spaces, you have heard that “AIPAC” or “the Israel lobby” controls US policy. This framing is false and dangerous. It allows America to pain tiself as a victim and a saviour. And it hides the real structure of power.

The actual drivers of the corridor project in the metropole are a triumvirate:

  1. Christian nationalism — the mass political base and the prophetic mandate.

2. Weapons manufacturers — Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman. They are the 5 largest in the world and they all call America, which has been at war for over 90% of its existence, home. Their bombs clear the path for the railway. Their factories provide jobs in nearly every congressional district, which is one way they hold sway over US policy — the exact way empire wants us to believe AIPAC does — funny how that works.

3. Imperial institutions — Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and the state apparatus. They were founded to advance the Puritan vision of a “New Israel.” They produce the policymakers who execute the corridor project.

AIPAC and Jewish Zionist organizations are useful helpers. They provide political cover, mobilize donors, and let the real power structure deflect criticism. But if AIPAC disappeared tomorrow, the corridor project would not slow by a day. The Christian nationalist base would still demand it. The defense contractors would still profit. The policymakers shaped by imperial institutions would still execute it. (To be clear: Jewish Zionist groups remain deeply complicit — they are just not the primary drivers of the project’s momentum in the metropole.)

Targeting AIPAC is a distraction. The real targets are the megachurches, the weapons factories, and the universities that serve as the triumvirate’s training grounds.

V. Why Liberal Tactics Have Failed — And Will Always Fail

For decades, anti‑Zionists in the West have used a toolkit designed by the system we oppose:

· Marches and rallies that media ignore. · Petitions that get filed away. · Phone calls to representatives whose campaigns are funded by defense contractors and Christian Zionist PACs. · Electoral campaigns that end in disappointment because both parties are committed to the corridor.

This is not a bug. It is the purpose of liberal dissent — to channel energy into forms of protest that never threaten the material infrastructure of empire.

The US has given “Israel” over $300 billion in military aid. Every president, Democrat and Republican, has kept it flowing. The current assault on Iran uses weapons made in US factories, shipped from US ports, paid for by US taxpayers. For the benefit of the military-industrial complex.

Asking the empire to stop being the empire is pointless. The empire is what it does. It does not need persuading. It needs disabling.

VI. A Note to Those Who Still Believe

You were not wrong to try. But those strategies have been used for generations, and the railway is still being built. The bombs are still falling. The corridor is closer than ever to permanence.

This article is not for those who still believe that a well‑argued essay, a big march, or a Democratic administration will reverse 2,300 years of imperial momentum. It is for those who have tried those things and are ready to admit they have failed — and that continuing them is not principled persistence, but willful complicity.

— -

VII. You Are Already Inside the Machine

Most Western anti‑Zionists think of themselves as outside the system — protesting against their government. But if you live in the US, UK, Canada, or the EU:

· Your taxes fund the bombs falling on Iran and the missiles leveling Gaza. · Your pension, university endowment, and bank are likely invested in the defense contractors that supply “Israel” and the Gulf states. · Your country’s ports and railways are the arteries through which the weapons flow

Your very way of life depends on the extraction and genocide perptuated by empire.

The empire does not ask your permission. It uses your money, your infrastructure, and your silence which it buys with your comfort.

When you refuse to disrupt that flow — because it’s illegal, because it’s uncomfortable, because you hope the next election will fix it — you are not neutral. You are a willing part of the corridor project.

The first step is to admit: non‑participation is a myth. You are already in the system. The question is whether you will remain a passive part or become a point of failure.

VIII. The Railway Is Being Built Right Now — Under Fire

It is easy to treat the railway as a future plan. But the IMEC corridor is an active construction project, and the war is its security detail.

· Construction crews are working on the UAE‑Saudi‑Jordan‑“Israel” rail link even as bombs fall. · The assault on Iran is meant to clear the military threat that Iranian media promised would target that railway. · Saudi Arabia, despite public calls for “de‑escalation,” is privately pressing the US to continue the war — because the corridor is the prize.

Every day the war goes on, the railway advances. Every day the railway advances, the corridor becomes harder to reverse.

For anti‑Zionists, this means there is no waiting for a “better time.” The infrastructure of permanent control is being welded into place now. Disruption cannot wait until after the next election.

IX. The Empire Has Been Here Before — And It Was Defeated

Do not give in to despair. Empires that control the land bridge have lost it before.

· The Byzantines withdrew from the Levant. · The Crusaders were expelled in 1291. · The British empire went nearly bankrupt in 1948.

Each time, the empire was brought down by a combination of Indigenous resistance and internal decay — including disruption of supply lines, economic overstretch, and the refusal of people inside the metropole to keep supporting the project.

Indigenous peoples — from Turtle Island to the Levant — have always been the primary force breaking empires. The role of those inside the metropole is to weaken the machine that fights them.

The current corridor project is not inevitable. It is vulnerable.

· The weapons supply chain can be blocked. · The financial system can be divested. · The political base can be fractured. · The railway has physical chokepoints that can be targeted.

The myth of permanence is a tool of empire. History shows that corridors are held only as long as the metropole is willing to pay the cost. Raising that cost — by disrupting inside the core — is the only proven way to force retreat.

X. What You Can Do Tomorrow

This is not a call for violence against people. It is a recognition that the empire has physical vulnerabilities, and that those of us living inside it are positioned to target them.

These actions are not a substitute for SWANA resistance. They follow the strategic lead of Palestinian, Lebanese, Yemeni, and Iranian organizers who have long called for disrupting the supply chains that feed the corridor. Listen to them. Fund them. And act here, where your leverage is greatest.

1. Disrupt Weapons Manufacturing and Shipping

The bombs falling on Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran are made in places like Lockheed Martin in Texas, Boeing in Missouri, and Raytheon in Massachusetts. They are shipped from ports like Tacoma, Norfolk, and Savannah.

Action: Find the nearest defense contractor facility or port that handles weapons shipments. Research whether an existing campaign to blockade or disrupt it exists. If none exists, take the first step to organize one — a physical presence, a supply run for those already acting. Post the address, the company’s role in the war, and a first meeting time.

2. Confront Christian Nationalism at Its Institutions

Christian Zionism is a network of megachurches, conferences, media empires, and political organizations.

Action: Identify the largest Christian Zionist event near you (e.g., Christians United for Israel summits, prophecy conferences). Organize a direct action — not a polite protest, but a disruption that makes it costly to hold the event. Target the donors and sponsors who fund these organizations; many are the same defense contractors profiting from the war.

3. Cut the Financial Arteries

Your money is funding the corridor.

Action: Withdraw your savings from banks that finance weapons manufacturers (public lists exist). Call your pension fund or union benefits office and demand divestment — not with a polite request, but with a statement that you will organize public pressure, attend board meetings, and escalate until they divest.

4. Build Community-Based Systems of Care

The empire’s strength is its integration. Anti‑Zionists must help to build parallel systems.

Action: Join or form an independent, self‑funded Indigenous-led organization that answers to no foundation or party. Prioritize direct action over electoral work. Create media that frames the corridor project in its full historical depth — share this article, expand on it, and push it into spaces where liberal pieties still reign.

Quick Summary: What You Can Do

Blockade weapons factories and ports Disrupt Christian Zionist conferences Divest from banks, pensions, endowments Build and support Indigenous-led community-based systems of care

XI. No Absolution

Reframing the structure of power does not mean letting anyone off the hook.

Jewish Zionists — from political leaders to soldiers in the “Israeli”/Imperial Occupation Forces — pull triggers, fire shells, drop bombs, enforce the occupation. They are responsible. So are the Gulf dynasties that bankroll the corridor, the Saudi crown prince who privately urges the US to keep bombing Iran, and the Palestinian Authority security forces that collaborate in the subjugation of their own people.

The purpose of naming the triumvirate — Christian nationalism, weapons manufacturers, imperial institutions — is not to excuse anyone. It is to identify the points of maximum leverage in the metropole. A soldier in the IOF is a murderer, but the factories that supply his bombs are in Connecticut. The Christian nationalist pastor who prays for his success is a propagandist, but his megachurch is funded by the same defense contractors that lobby Congress.

This is not a binary choice. We can hold individual perpetrators accountable and dismantle the imperial infrastructure that arms, funds, and sanctifies them. Both are necessary. But if you live in the metropole, your unique responsibility is to target the infrastructure at its source.

We fight on all fronts. But if you are inside the imperial core, your front is here: the weapons factories, the ports, the financial institutions, the Christian Zionist conferences. Striking those targets is not a substitute for supporting Palestinian resistance — it is the material support that resistance requires.

XII. A Call to Step Up

If you are a non‑Palestinian anti‑Zionist who has marched, signed petitions, and called your representative, you have done what the system allowed. But the system has not changed.

The current assault on Iran is not an anomaly; it is the latest chapter in a 2,300‑year drive to control the land bridge. The railway from the UAE to “Israel” is not just a trade route; it is the final lock on the corridor. And it is being built with weapons shipped from our ports, justified by a theology rooted in our churches, and funded by our taxes.

You are not watching from afar. You are inside the machine that is doing this.

The question is not whether you will be complicit. You already are. The question is whether you will remain a passive component or become a point of resistance.

· Block the arms factories. · Stop the ships. · Shut down the Christian Zionist conferences. · Divest from the war machine. · Build the organizations that will outlast this empire.

These actions are not a replacement for the resistance of SWANA peoples — they are what you owe them. We follow their lead, fund their struggle, and strike the infrastructure that is killing them.

The corridor will not be held forever. History moves in cycles, and empires fall. The question is whether we will be the generation that helps push it over the edge.

The time for liberal solutions is over. The time for dismantling is now.

This article is dedicated to the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and all those who have borne the weight of the corridor for centuries. May we in the metropole prove worthy of your struggle.
